A day before the International Women's Month celebration ends, a 36-year-old wife has filed a complaint resulting in the arrest of her Danish husband in an entrapment operation Wednesday night, March 30, at a condominium in Pueblo Park, Cagayan de Oro.
Arrested was Rene Foli, 61, for violation of the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act (RA 9995) in relation to Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (RA 10175).
The operation was led by Lieutenant Colonel Lemuel Gonda, chief of the Regional Anti-Cyber Crime Unit, in cooperation with Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Philip Pontillas, deputy city director for operations of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) and Major Mario Mantala, chief of Police Station 4.
Investigation disclosed that the suspect allegedly shared her wife's explicit videos and photos among her friends to get her back and to continue their relationship.
One of the wife's friends agreed to meet with the suspect to witness the supposed deletion of the videos and photos. The victim and her friend sought the help of the police and carried out an entrapment operation.
Pontillas said Cocpo remains steadfast in its campaign against any form of abuse against women.
"Hugot ang kampanya sa atong kapulisan sa Cocpo labina sa pang abuso sa atong mga kababaehan sa rehiyon. Ang kapulisan kanunay andam motabang ug manalipod sa katungod sa mga kababaehan labi na karon nagsaulog kita sa Women's Month," he said.
The suspect is now detained at the Maharlika Detention Center while the confiscated evidence are now under police custody.
