TOURISTS and locals of Misamis Oriental will have to experience and enjoy another tourist attraction as the provincial government opened the Misamis Oriental Tourism Complex and Botanical Garden on Tuesday, February 2.
In time for the commemoration of the Cebu Pacific Flight 387 crash, Governor Yevgeny Emano led the blessing and inauguration of the new landmark project that will boost the tourism industry of the province.
The site is located at the boundary of Claveria town and Gingoog City, where both local government units will benefit as it would provide job opportunities and economic movement.
Emano said the development of the first phase of the site which is worth P16 million is sourced from the energy fund based on the Energy Resolution (ER) 1-94.
Under the ER 1-94, the community hosting the energy resource and/or energy generating facility is entitled to a revenue share of one-centavo per kilowatt-hour of the total electricity sales.
Representatives of the different power firms in the province graced the inauguration.
"Ang LGU ang magbuot aha idapat ang energy fund once madawat and I decided to spend it here. And we invited them here para makita nila aha ang naabot sa ilang pondo,"Emano said.
Emano added the energy fund for this year will also be spent for the completion of the site.
"This will be finished before my term ends,"he said.
The relaxingly cool destination and beautiful botanical landscapes will be equipped with new facilities and amenities such as coffee shops, fruit stands, camping areas and cottages. In the middle of the site stands the Cebu Pacific Flight 387 shrine.
